The position is a regional staff position based in the Library Administration offices in Allendale, SC. There is no restriction on the incumbent’s residence.
Job Description:
AHJ Regional Library – Administration is seeking a dynamic, customer service-oriented individual who has the flexibility to work as a Courier to ensure a smooth flow of library materials and supplies between all five branches of the AHJ Regional Library system. This position includes a variety of physical activities including driving a seven-passenger van, loading, and unloading bins/boxes of books and supplies, as well as minor vehicle maintenance such as fueling vehicles and taking the van for cleaning.
The ideal candidate will provide exemplary internal and external customer service and will perform other tasks deemed necessary. Having a clean driving record and maintaining a clean driving record is a major requirement. A driving record from the DMV is required.
Schedule:
All positions may include morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. The supervisor will determine the schedule upon hire and may include weekends periodically. Please note that schedules are subject to change to meet the needs of the library.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Some clerical, administrative, and computer experience.
- Ability to lift a moderate weight up to 60 pounds in handling library materials.
- Ability to push carts, bins, and book trucks loaded with library materials.
- A valid, clean S.C. driver's license is required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and background check.
Benefits and compensation:
Part-Time Hours Per Week: 10 hours
Position carries no fringe benefits. Salary: $12.50 per hour
